What a fantastic photo documentary of your home, barn & garage build that you and Loretta have compiled. The hardware that connects the first row of logs to the floor is impressive. On the 11" loghog screws, I suppose thats what connects & holds all the logs to each other? Do they predrill where those Loghog screws get installed?
The Garage & Barn floor pour sure did use a boat load of concrete. I'm glad to see a vapor barrier installed under the slab for the barn. Having that barrier in place will reduce moisture infiltration through the concrete allowing you to paint the floor and have the paint actually stick & last many years without difficulty, if you choose to do so. If you think you might ever want to paint the floor, let it cure for 21 days, then etch it before they start construction. It's much easier to etch the concrete before there is a structure in place.
How exciting to see all those cement trucks lined up feeding the cement pump to dispense it exactly where needed. All kinds of cool machinery to drool over for sure.
I see your plate is pretty full getting ready to pick up the water tank, guests, friends, relatives, chores that need to be done along with all the other stuff that keeps you busy. Man you never rest do you? It's what keeps you going. All this sure is taking a toll on your golf game though - sorry to here about that pitiful two stroke loss.
Rob, please keep us all in the loop on your activities and construction progress, do not hold anything back.

WOW!!
I just spent all morning reading this thread. Rob, this is fantastic. I don't know if you understand the great service you are doing for newbies like me. I just bought my first tractor and all I've done so far is drive it around our little 20 acre farmette looking at all the projects I want to start. I haven't even attached my box blade yet and I'm already more comfortable with it. I did just order Pat's Easy Change system though.

I love to see log walls go up, and can hardly wait until I can watch mine being raised!
As always, those are some great pictures and explanations! You'll have a better view from your garage than I could get anywhere on my property...

How did the tank move go with it being over sized they were probably having a commercial hauler move with permits and all that.
I figured Loretta would have to bail you out after CHP cough you being over width.
I would have done the same thing in a hart beat.
I didn't think of it but if you put a silo in and put the tank on top of it you could use gravity and not have to pump out of it.
What made me think of it is they were dismantling a barn on my way to work over the past few weeks and the silo is still there by it self now. and it got me dreaming about my cabin.

He might get away with it, if he uses the tractor to pull the trailer, but other than that, I haven't had any luck getting away with stuff with the CHP. 80 miles is a long way with an oversize load.Hopefully he purchased an over width permit and took his dear wife to use as an overwidth escort. I guess only time will tell. Best of luck 3rrl!!!

Haven't heard from him either and I dropped a post a while back in another thread I was sure I'd get a response from him on.  You reckon we ought to start a collection for bail money?
You know... you'd think in this day and age the police would have let him swap his one phone call for one post on the forum of his choice ('cause surely he'd have taken them up on that, right?)

I am getting a little concerned. I thought surely he would be back by now with stories of just how badly it pulled, or of how the company refused to load it due to their reasons.
