Rob,

The place is just looking awesome. Every time you post pics, it just amazes me how quickly they are moving along, plus all the details that they've accomplished!!!

I might have forgoten this, but what are you doing for siding on the lower portion of the walls, below the decks. It looks like T1-11 in the pictures that I saw, but I wasn't sure if that was just the sheething and something else is going to cover it? or are you leaving it like that and staining/painting it?

I really think you a building a home that will compliment your views and setting.

Thanks for all the updates and pics,
Eddie

These pictures are showing a fantastic home under way. Won't be long before you'll be sitting on the porch enjoying it all.

I agree with every one else, the pictures are great. Are you going to post pictures when the house is finished? it would be great if you could put cameras in every room after you move in, it could be like the TV program "big brother", we could live with you and comment 24 hours a day. Wouldn`t that be nice? ha ha ha

Eddie thanks a lot.
We felt the home "fits" nicely in the area.
That bottom part is really the "crawl space" but is a lot taller than most. We will stain and seal the sheathing as it is. Then add a decorative walkway around with some shrubs etc. That's why I asked about that 1 yard concrete trailer in your hot tub thread.
Maybe I should look into the log type covering that the garage will have? Wonder how much that would cost? Do you think that would add to the looks?

tlbuser thanks too.
It is our dream retirement home. We hope by this time next year we'll be relaxing on those porches.

silverdollar6,
Thanks and I'm glad you are enjoying the pictures too. Each time up we take snapshots but always have way too many to post. I guess we're pretty excited about it.
LOL ... Now you're beginning to sound like Tom (tommu) about the webcam. He's been bugging me about it for 6 months now. Hahaha no way am I going to put cameras in there. I'll be lucky to have an Internet connection out there.

Say it isn't so..... I really hope you are just kidding. I know that TBN will sorely miss you. Where else are we going to learn about the laser self leveling, remote controlled brush mower that your building? Your post are some of the first ones that I read in the morning to see how the progress of you many projects are coming along. The house looks awesome. You and the mrs. have done an excellent job at documenting it's construction.

srossman,
Well, I am hoping that I'm kidding, cause I like it here.
We have no electricity hook up except our own solar. No phone lines and no cable. I'm pretty sure only ATT/Singular is the only cell phone reception we can get. I know our Verizon doesn't work out there so we'll have to change.
I do know my nearest neighbor sends me emails so he's got to have Internet acces right?
So what is available to get Internet? Satellite maybe? How expensive is that?

No wonder the web cams aren't working!

Maybe we can get some one near by with internet access to translate your smoke signals to html code to keep you in the link.

Maybe you should have build a tepee.

Rob

I switched to satellite about a year ago and really like it. Ours is about $70.00 a month for 1 MPS service. It is fast enough that both my much better half and I can be on our respective computers and it is still fast enough for me to watch the streaming video of your hydraulic box blade wizardry. Our service is through Wild Blue, Hughes is cream of the crop but a bit more expensive, and there are other companies out there. We do lose the signal during hail storms and if too much snow gets on the dish, other than that no problems.
