We have a similar bay window shape where the jacuzzi bathtub sits behind.
Also catching my eye is how the corners are like that. I find it extremely interesting and intriguing. For some reason, I am mesmerized by the way the ceilings and overhangs are constructed too. It looks very clean.

I know some guys were asking about the electrical and plumbing, but I've not posted much about it. So I took a few pictures showing the washer drier hook ups and the shower and bathroom drains.
Looks good to me I guess.



What I learned is that they try to run as much electrical and plumbing as possible inside the interior framed walls. Doing inside the logs would be much harder. However, there will be some areas like light switches and such that will go into the log walls. I don't have any photos yet, since the electrician has only just started.

The few other things I noticed was that they framed the small triangular wall separating the main floor from the stairway down to the basement. Then some of the small closets they put into the upstairs bedrooms. We had them change the closets because the plans showed them up against the sloping ceiling running across the entire length of the rooms. They were super short like for the 7 dwarves or something. ???
We pulled them out from there to make them taller. lol ... They are mostly guest bedrooms anyway, so who cares. Seriously, it's not like a guest needs tons of closet space ... or at least I hope not. In any case, it makes the rooms look "more spacious" even if it is not fully usable space.

On the way home I stopped by the chain gate to snap these photos. This area is right where the small ravine on our property is. I tried to take the shots showing some of that ravine and then a close up from there. I also added a couple old pictures to show what the ravine turn looks like with my Blazer in it to get an idea of the size cut that needed to make it passable. And then a shot of when it was being carved by the road builder in his D-9 Cat.
The last photo is on the property but across the ravine looking up to the home from a different angle. That part of the ravine is only 100 yards from the home.

Now onto the log home progress.
They pretty much got the rest of the logs stained and the bottom section too. There are still areas that need to be done but they wanted to get at least this part done before the weather hits. They should be able to work through the Winter now that they are dry inside.
These are a couple photos of how the boxed in the overhanging eaves and also showing the stain on the exterior.

Hey Rob have you tried Ad-aware to get rid of some of the crap on the computer? I have to do this a couple of times a day or the internet comes to a grinding halt.

First though, I thought I'd show a picture taken last Spring when my good friend Larry (gugliols) was fixing my tractor. He is standing on where the barn pad is now. You can see part of the white canopy that shelters the well behind him and those twin mountain tops in the background. You can see the same twin mountains (called Horn Mountain) in the background of that last closeup of the home from the ravine road. In the last photo you can see the 5,000 gallon water tank next to the well, which is taken about from the same spot Larry was standing.

These pictures shows some of the cables and turnbuckles the use to tighten the walls and ceiling. They are twisted over each other and are super tight. The other pictures show some of the insulating materials they will use in the barn. They are big rolls of about 3" thick foam material.
Since they are planning to finish the home sooner than we thought, I've asked them to hustle up building the barn so I can start using it to bring my stuff up. I'll need to empty my home down South to get it ready to sell. I need to move all my heavy machinery up there and get it all hooked up in case I get another plastic injection mold to build. I'll be moving all my machine shop tools and benches myself, but will hire out the machinery movers. My lathe alone weighs over 10,000lbs so I couldn't budge it with my Kama.
