So, lets say you install this fancy dancy see everything at night camera. Lets say that your office is on one side of the house, the bathroom is on the other. Lets say that it is late at night, and the house is in the middle of nowhere, and you have to go #1 and the front door is conveniently located near your office.

Lets say the wife decides to entertain the neighbors by showing them the new security system. Lets say she sees a 1 AM trigger on the front of the house camera and assumes it is a deer or other animal...

Lets say at least I spelled my name right in the snow, or so the neighbors say.

Carl

There is always a downside to everything.

Too funny! Guess it could be worse. At least it wasn't YOU showing off your new fancy dancy security system to the neighbors only to find the 1:00 AM trigger is actually your wife out writing HER name in the snow!

I have my security camera in my horse barn so that I can watch it in my home on Channel 4 which is not used in my area since we have cable tv. While I am in my barn, which is 1/4 mile down the driveway from the house, it is not unusual to relieve myself in one of the stalls while I am cleaning them knowing that no one is home to watch the tv.
Several months after this installation when my neighbors were over to visit, they informed me that they thought a new western was on tv, then realized it was a security camera in someones barn. They didn't know where it was coming from till they saw me on it one day. They said they liked to just sit and watch the horses some days on tv. I never asked them what I was doing when they saw me on the tv. I have since learned how to wire my camera where it won't broadcast to the entire neighborhood.

That settles it, no security cameras around here. I get caught too often as it is.;)

It could have been worse.... what if it had been a #2 nature call instead

I can see that happening at my house too. But the wife knows that I think it's more "satisfying" to relieve myself in the great outdoors. So maybe she'll keep that in her mind. But if I get caught, oh well... I'll just be able to critique my form ;)

OK,

Let's see if I can straighten out this thread.......

What kind of equipment are you using to broadcast the video on channel 4? Could you explain your setup?

It wasn't broadcast over the air, but through the cable. I have the camera hooked to cable in my barn and it runs to my house and hooks up to a splitter connecting my incoming Cox cable to my tv. Since they don't broadcast on channel 4 I have my camera set for channel 4 and when I turn my tv to channel 4 I get my barn. Unfortunantly, my closest neighbors who have cable tv were also picking it up on their tvs on channel 4. I think I was using too powerful an amplifier. Now I just have the cable run straight to a different tv and I notified my neighbors that the "horse channel" is off the air.:p

PS It was video and audio. And there were many times I used sailor's language when my horses were acting up. Definitely not PG rated.

It would take me two times to get caught. With a last name like wejrowski, no way could I get that done the first trip.

but look on the bright side.. You now know you didn't waste you money since it works as advertise.

Could be worse, your wife could have posted them here on TBN

We bought our daughter a fancy dancy baby monitor when she had our first grandchild--audio, video and night vision--spare no expense!!! Imagine her surprise and our dismay when her neighbor informed her he was watching her breast feed in the middle if the night. Made her a little hesitant to use the thing, to say the least. The manufacturer was no help when we explained the problem. Nice $300 decoration in the nursery.
Regards, Mike
