Reskin old barn or replace with new building?

I've been getting quotes for a 30X40 in the $6-10,000 assembled range (slab not included) - which about has me convinced I want to do it myself and maybe go 48 long, add a shed to one side and a poured slab for similar amounts of $$. I've got a couple buddies who would come up for a weekend to help put on the skin in trade for hunting privileges.
