Thanks,
Well the door man came out and talked me into regular garage doors.. Basically he said it would be 2 or 3 thousand to get the quality of roll up door that would equal the strength and security of a traditional door. Rather than stick to my guns, I deferred to the expert. We will see.. |

I don't know about steel buildings but you may consider building a Terra-Dome super structure. It is tornado proof and energy efficient. I will be building one very soon. Visit their website Earth Sheltered Buildings I have some friends in Winchester Oklahoma that are working on finishing their earth sheltered home. Visit their website at Stockton Earth Home Project | An earth home is no more a cave, than a penthouse is an attic. Good luck

Thanks for the pictures. The guy who told me to look into USA Barns is a guy who knows what he is talking about, so I expected the quality/price combination to be very fair. I think your experience has pretty much finalized me on it. It looks really nice.
I am guessing from the terrain in your pictures that you are either on Wellston/Arcadia/Chandler side of OKC, or on the Bridgecreek/Chickasha side. I kind of miss that red dirt. |

East of Guthrie. Grew up in Edmond, but it is getting way too big. I don't think you will miss that red dirt all that much after a rain. I had 10lbs on each boot after 5 steps this morning. |

Thought I would post a thumbs up to Mark at USA Barns and second some of the comments here...I just got a 30x50x12 pole barn built by them with a 15 ft lean to...it took just a couple of days and the guys rocked...it looks really good and I defintely could not have done better job on my own...

My metal building is a Miracle Truss framed bldg, about 15 years old. I used wooden girts and perlins for easier framing and build out. However I got my roll up and walk doors and additional trim from Mueller. More recently I got standing seam white metal, CF profile, for the carport and for the reframed house roof. I too recommend Mueller for the way they treat their customers.
