Default Caulk tube spouts

How do you caulk something when the spout on the caulk tube is to short to reach the area that needs caulked?

You can fit a small plastic tube over the spout in the length you need.

*Thanks.
The places I need to culk are about 4 inches beyond the end of the spout.
This is not the first time I've run into this problem.
Sure would be nice it they would put longer spouts on the tubes of caulk.
What ever I use the extension would have to be stiff enough not to bend to easy and tight enough not to slip off.

I had the same problem. Went to the "Dollar Store" or someplace like that, and bought a package of novelty-type drinking straws. These things are about 3/8" diameter, plastic and about 10" long. They also have a ribbed flexible portion so they can be bent. The plastic was thick enough that they were stiff, not thin like most straws.

I think these were in with the Valentine's Day stuff. May have similar at WalMart. Then, duct taped the straw to the caulk tube spout.

* I thot about using a small hose clamp with what ever I use for a spout extension.
I also considered using one of those small cans of spray foam but the tube is to short on them too.
