Default Is this a job my L2800 can handle?

I am renting out 15 acres to a farmer who is putting in soybeans this spring. After the beans are taken out this summer, I want to put the field in hay. I wondered, do you think I can rent a seeder and any other implement needed to put the hay in myself with my L2800 HST with unloaded industrial tires? I am brand new at this, I only have 10 hrs on my one month old tractor. It seems to me that the field should be in pretty good shape after the beans are removed. I can pay the farmer to put the hay in for me, but I'd sure enjoy doing it myself if I can figure out how. What toys err... tools/implements do you recommend to take on this project? Thanks.

Greg

Yes your tractor can handle it although it will take some time.

I can't recommend what toys you will need since I only plant a small patch of oats and milo for the birds to eat.

in your aggrement with the farmer, have him disc it after he harvest.

you should be able to then pull a drill with your tractor.

Wushaw, do you plant with your tractor or is the patch small enough to do by hand?

I wouldn't want to do it by hand, although I will be throwing the Milo seed by hand.

I run my disk over the plot it in September with the L2800 and pull a broadcast spreader with my RER Snapper mower to spread 100lbs of oats and then pull my drag with my Mitsubishi to just cover the seeds.

I will shortly be spreading milo seed before the rain stops for the summer here. I will probably be throwing this by hand which will take awhile.

I try to make use of all my equipment at hand
