Default Copy of Pole barn

So I fell in love SteelDusts pole barn and am working on my own. Here are some progress pics of the site work Ive done. In total I have about 160 yards of boney gravel fill. The site is on a slope, the price you pay to live in the foothills of the western Maine mopuntains! Hmm seems that my files pic files are too big, will retry some photos later, in a smaller format.

The easyest way, by far, to do this is to install Microsofts Image Resizer.
Once installed, just right click your picture and select "Resize Pictures".

Ok, so heres some pics!

116 yards to level, a good sized hemlock tree stump. I chained off the tree about 25 feet in the air and pulled it down with the tractor. I rented a post hole digger as i dont have one for the tractor, once i had buried the auger i used the bucket and chain to extract it from the ground fulled loaded with dirt.

He has a really nice barn and the design is a winner. It will be fun to watch your progress in building your barn. How big will it be?

Mine will be a little smaller 32wide 24 deep. Hopefully this will be enough to house the tractor and a workshop, with area for cordwood storage. I see that on some of these barns people are running the rebar right through the 6x posts. Is that really needed. Ive got the posts set in 4 feet in sono tubes with cement. Ive already run the bar and will have a pic soon, all the posts are up.

another image resizer is irfanview, it will let you do whole directory of pictures and save resized under new names, etc. also allows command line to resize the pics.

So here are some pics of the poles inserted, and a different way i used to insert the posts. I placed the 6x6x18 or 12' post on the bucket and bound it with a chain lifted it vertical and then gently lowered it into the hole, precision bucket curling!

I resized some of the stumping pics, i pulled over the trees by chaining off about 30 feet up and driving forward to uproot them.
