This is one of many threads about building a new pole garage/building. I'm thankful despite the state of the economy, to be able to finally build/afford the garage I have wanted for several years. I plan to house my tractor (of course), the boat, and other things that have been taking up space in the garage attached to the house.

I'm building a 24' x 36' x 10' garage. There will be a total of (3) 8' x 10' overhead doors, (1) 3' service door, and 2 windows. One side of the garage will be a "drive-thru" bay.

So to begin with, here is a pic of the site I have to work with. I used my little NH TC24DA with the tiller and my box-blade to move the dirt to create a good pad to build on....

After moving the boat, trailer and scraping back some good limestone I was able to finally dig some dirt!

I tilled most of the area first. Then I used the box blade and the FEL to move most of the dirt needed to get things level. The hydraulic top and side links I made several years ago really helped things!

I had a little helper also!

As you can see from the pictures, "Plan A" was to dig the holes with my trusty old PHD. However the ground is so hard here that I had to resort to "plan B"......something with some down pressure!

Looks like thats going to be a nice spot for your shop. Excavate so you can add lean to's later. My 30X36 filled up way too fast. Looks like you don't have enough beer to do this correctly:D

Love the picture of your "Helper"

He will always remember helping to build the new garage!

I can't believe you make your surveyor clean equipment. I see your "helper" in the 4th photo holding the surveyors stick and then later on you got him washing off the PHD. Just remember minimum wage went up today.
Looks like fun. Keep the photos coming.
