On my GE INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS U041CP 70 AMP RECREATIONAL VEHICLE PARK PANEL BOX, I installed 4 guage size aluminum wire from a main panel 200 amp outdoor breaker box. This RV outlet box is being used for 110 Volt only.

The GE 70 AMP box is designed inside so that a short wire connects both terminals of the Hot breaker bar sides. I installed my Black (hot) feed wire (from main panel) to one of the main feed wire terminals at the top of the RV Box. All works out and meter checks fine.

HOWEVER, my question is that I think that short wire connecting the two hot bar sides together is copper and my feed wire is aluminum. Both are touching at this one connection. Did I do wrong here ?

At the power company we make copper to aluminum connections all the time, but we do use oxide inhibitor were we make these connections to keep the connection from oxidizing, if you do this you should not have any problems. Hope this info helps.

Thanks Lineman.... makes me feel better about my box.

I will get some oxide inhibitor for the connection.
