I ran across these pictures of when we built our goat barn back in 2003. It was a do it your self project than me and my 16 year old nephew did one summer. It was 100% design as you go. We bought the metal at a local Metal Depot. The ideas for the pens and feeder came from seeing other local goat breeders.
The support beams are 6x6 treated. Here the goats were ready to move in.
We put in a center alley which we later poured with concrete along with a feed room.
We had found an old shop fan and mounted it one one end and covered it with a 2x2 in wire panel on both sides. We did have to buy a new motor for it but it gave me an excuse to run electricity to the barn.
The feeders we made out of the 6 inch galvanized C channel. We found out that when you have goats you have to built every thing "goat proof" or they will tear it up.
The waters we ordered on line from Jeffers Livestock and Supply if I remember correctly.
With the feeders we mounted a sloped piece of plywood on the alley side and could just pour the feed from the alley side without going into the pen.
The barn is starting to take shape. Good thing we have mild winters down here as summer had ran out.
The pens were built out of the 4x4 inch by 60 inch panels. These held up very well. Most are still standing except when the hurricane dropped a few trees on them
Looks nice. When I built my barn I used the 4x4 wire panels to divide the kidding stalls. I had a problem with the does fighting through the panels and ignoring their kids. I replaced the panels with 1x rough cut oak and have had no problems since.
