We planted more gardenias by the back porch. My wife scraped off the topsoil. Then I broke up the hard red clay with the backhoe and shovelled it into the wheelbarrow with a hand shovel.

I had a little difficulty moving the wheelbarrows full of dirt down the steep hill. On one trip, the wheelbarrow started to get away from me. While trying to regain control, the wheelbarrow tipped over and rubbed my knuckle between the handle and the ground. A little Jim-Bob doctoring and I was back in business.

After the mishap with the wheelbarrow, I decided to use the tractor bucket to remove the red clay. Due to the slope of the hill, I could not orient the tractor to scoop out the dirt with the bucket so I used the hand shovel. We removed four FEL buckets of red clay and replaced it with topsoil. We still have some topsoil piles that resulted from building our road and the house.

When hauling off the red clay, I forgot about the septic tank and drove over it about 3 times. Yikes! I hope I didn't damage it.

IMO, I wouldn't worry about the septic tank with that little tractor (assuming it is concrete), but you should avoid driving on the drain field to avoid compacting it.

I cleaned up some small trees around the place that had blown over and were in the way. When using the chainsaw, I keep spilling gas on the ground using my government mandated "no-spill" gas nozzle.

Here are the gardenias we planted, actually - that my wife planted. I just did some of the grunt work.

I started putting firewood on the area I have designated for my round stack. I put down nine 3'x4' pallets on the ground. I will actually end up with a "oval" stack.

Snap a picture of this spout if you could. I don't have any and am wondering what I am "missing out on".
