New Holland T2320, New Holland T4.95
I recently (last Thursday) took delivery of my New Holland T2320 (45hp) tractor, upgrading from a TZ24DA (24hp). Knowing the new tractor was coming, along with the birth of my first child at the end of August, I knew I needed to give the tractor its own home (the other tractor fit in the garage with both vehicles), as well as clear some things out of my attached 2.5 car garage so we could maneuver through it with all of the things that come along with a baby.

So, I decided on a 20x20 shed/mini barn, with a loft for additional storage. I had the trusses engineered to clear the span (Gable roof, 12/12 pitch), which were delivered last week. I wanted a gable roof, rather than a gambrel because I like the way they look, and the steep pitch has always been attractive to me. This past weekend, I started on the shed.

Friday night, the site was excavated, and I moved the topsoil (what little there is on the building site) out of the way.

On Saturday morning, I had the crusher run delivered, and I compacted the site. The building was laid out, and we began drilling post holes.

The ground is extremely compacted clay, and my weight was not even close to enough to move the phd once we hit the hard stuff (pics 2 and 3). We had to use the excavator to apply down force on some holes in order to get the proper depth.

By the end of the day on Saturday, the 4 corner posts were set, and on Sunday, we worked on getting the rest of the posts set, along with the 2x12 headers. Attached a re few photos of the process/progress.

By late afternoon Sunday, all of the posts were set and the headers were up. I will add the girts this week, and, weather permitting, start on the trusses this weekend.

this is freaky. We both live in NE OH ( I am in Hartville) My name is Peter. We obviously both "need" tractors--mine is green though. Yours is a lot cleaner!. And now the wild part. Mountaineering!? I just came back from Aconcagua! Welcome to TBN!
Peter

I'm jealous, Aconcagua is on my "to climb" list, just haven't got there yet. How did the trip go?

I'm just a couple miles south of Navarre.

Horrible weather for summit days. Almost lost 3 of our team. I turned back at 21,000 with cerebral edema. Several were flown out during the trip with pulmonary edema. Nose tip and some finger tips lost to the cold (not me). Retinal hemorrhage. Other than that it was great!

It is a strange place. It is totally non-technical and really just big hike. But it is high and the weather occasionally can be a killer. I had a friend who summited a few weeks later...actually was awoken about 3am with the Chillean earthquake on summit day at camp Cholera (about 19,800 I believe). I hope to go again..maybe two years from now.
