    Default Rock Gabions

Has anyone used rock gabions to make retaining walls to control erosion.

Gabions are normally used for protection against river or ocean erosion. Is that your situation? If not and you want to control erosion on steep banks and the like, geotextile would be way cheaper. If you can be more specific, you're liable to get better advice. Perhaps post some shots if you have any.
