snagged pops' camera as he was there when the goings were going on :)

They should be back out there today finishing up so the roof guys can lay the tin. It's sunny where I am so hoping it is there, too.

They worked in the rain a good bit today, but still couldn't wrap it up. Supposed to rain again tomorrow, too. Whodathunkit

What they were able to accomplish yesterday. It was pouring in that area yesterday....kind of glad they aren't working today so the water will have a chance to run off and it is supposed to rain again.

SO, that's looking good! Are you going to put vents in each gable to let some of that Carolina steam out? I would even consider one passive vent at one end and one Solar vent at the other. The power vent in my steel building drops the temp about 15 degrees in the summer....from roast to simmer:laughing:

Thanks! Bought some plastic vents from Lowes the other day with the intention of putting them up, but will have the builders make some out of wood. We will definitely have one powered vent set with a thermostat to help exhaust the hot air. If it needs another, we'll add it.

How big are those timbers? They appear bigger than 6 X 6.

They are 8x8s
the original plan to go with 6x6s was scrapped after my dad realized once all was said and done, he'd be upset he didn't do the 8x8s. I think his plan is to have those posts semi exposed (breaking up the siding) when we enclose this portion of the building.

Looking great so far and I can't wait to see the finished product.

Thanks!

Attached is the plan for the house part. Had a buddy draw them up based off another similar design. If you see anything that is screwed up, feel free to let me know! View attachment FP3 REVISED.pdf
