That's a crazy price for the panels. I paid almost three times that 18 months ago.

It is a perfect storm. Some big consumers of the solar systems got away with subsidies (I think Spain and Germany) and in the same time China put on line the largest silcon wafer plant on the world. Chinese makers flooded the market bankrupting several western makers of the panels (Solindra comes to mind). I think the price for the panels was less than dollar/W before the government put 30% tariff on them. Well, that is the story I heard about that. Last year I wouldn't even think about installing PV but this year I plan to even heat my house with it. The global ecomic downturn is good for something I suppose.

It was 10kw I believe if I remember it right. I wish I still had it but I moved and it stayed with the house

Panels, Inverters, Ephase cable and bunch of small grounding parts are in. Still waiting for rails, clamps etc, galvanized bolts and main cable for connection to the grid. Still has to finish 24 concrete (out of 52) footings but got caught by cold weather. Hoping to have them finshed Wednesday and Thursday. By then the footing for first bank will be cured enough to start building the supporting structure for the panels.
