I don't know if this project will start in 10 days or ten years but I would like a barn. Wether it be stick built or pole barn I would like photos of yours and your ideas. Let me know what you would do again or do different if you built it over.

I am roughly looking at a 30x40 size with cement floor. I will be doing some things myself and contracting some things out.

I think I would like to have it heated (by a wood stove) someday, store my tractor and misc other equipment.

Pictures pictures pictures !!!

Built a "Miracle Truss" 30 x 50 myself. With the exception of the slab, I built it alone.
I had to rent a fork lift for a weekend to set up the trusses. Took a couple of months (on weekends)
Make sure you have water and a electric hook up. Still looks like new 15 year later!
Can't think of anything I would do different... good luck with your project.

I agree on water and a electric hook up. I put 12x12 doors on opposite sides to let the prevailing wind blow through when I am working in it. Also have a walk through door to the shed, in case an ice storm freezes the main walk in door, (that happened a lot where we used to live).

Don't need heat here, but should have insulated it.

30 by 40 shop with shed, built by a local guy.

He puts the skylights on the sidewall not on the roof.

This was built late last fall but I had to wait until May for the floor and electric to be finished. It was a long winter!!!
