I need your input as to the best method of clearing stumps for gardening. I am going to clear cut timber on my land and will leave maybe 2-3 acres clear during reforestation for planting a garden. The area was once a garden but parents let the forest reclaim that area starting about 30 years ago and now have trees 12-18" in diameter that will have to be removed. I plan on moving to my land next year or 2018 at the latest and so this project does not need to be completed overnight.

With that being said what do you recommend for clearing stumps out for gardening? I will be getting dozer work done to construct a road to home site and was thinking that may be the most efficient method of clearing. With that being said I am also open to purchasing required implements that would allow me to clear the land as well. Suggestions.

I'd get the dozer in there on the stumps.

Interesting. My big garden area down below on the creek was let go about 3 1/2 years ago. Now has many trees all over it.
