Default Extended Crew Cab- The SuperDuperDuty family hauler

Welcome to my chop shop... time to start a thread on my family hauler truck build. The foundation of this build is the desire to haul my family in comfort and still be able to haul/tow.

I have recently (yesterday!) acquired a 2000 ford crew cab with motor issues, a good frame and decent body. I bought a stripped extended cab a few weeks ago that is also in decent shape, and like the crew cab, will need rocker panel repairs. Another truck, one that was center stage in another thread as I detailed a motor swap, will donate it's front frame section, motor/drivetrain, and rear interior/trim. Here's the other thread: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/p...wap-7-3-a.html

As with my other threads, this may take a while, as time permits, due to family, farm, and work obligations. But the wife is convinced that the kids will be grown and gone before I get it done, so why bother, we won't need it... big motivation, right? Guess I better get busy! No, wait... I already did, I got the rear seat and some trim removed from the CC earlier today!

The final outcome should be like the truck pictured below...

Don't you have like 12 redheaded kids? Is this gonna have 3rows of seats?
My wife told me to grow up. I told her to get out of my fort!

Carpet, seats, trim, head liner, everything from the dash back is out, not counting door panels... need to see what body panels attach where to decide where to 'unstich' panels vs just cut thru everything where front crew cab meets rear ext cab section.

C'mon... just read my sig... *grin*

Yes, 3 rows of seats. No, not 12 kids, currently 6, with number 7 on the way any day now... none of them so far have red hair... will see about the baby. The wife is the only redhead... but the 3yo daughter has her beat on attitude!

Cool. So three different truck pieces to build one big bad truck? That thing will be fun to park at Walmart...lol.
