There has been some discussion here about tanks so, for those that don't know how they are installed ....... for my 1500 gallon tank, first I needed a hole 7 ft. wide, 6 ft. deep, and 14 feet long. In the interest of wanting to know, I dug this with my Allmand TLB35, 12' reach and 16 inch bucket. Took almost 3 hours. Conversely, my 580E with a 24 inch bucket takes almost 2 hours for the same size hole.

Then a 6" pea gravel base was added. They back the truck up to the site and (hopefully) in goes the tank.

The tank is then checked for level, the pipes are connected (48" inlet and 51" outfall) and well, you know the rest.

Can I asked.. how much does a new tank cost? Mine's pretty old.. and seems small compared to your new one.

I was just wondering about how DEEP the tank is it appears by the 3rd pic that the tank top is almost to the top of the ground. or is that an optical thing. it looks good though...

The 1500 gallon tank was $679.25, delivery/installation was $200.00, pipe was $253.57 (used all schedule 40 PVC) total $1132.82. Sizing is pretty much dependant on local code, number of bedrooms and square footage of dwelling.

Apparently, your eye may be better than you think. On the right side (in the pic.) we're almost 1" above grade. For the garage addition, I will be filling/resetting grade so that this same point will be ~12" below grade.

I needed a 1000 gallon tank and 8 feeder leach lines for a 3 bedroom 2.5 bath home. They also made me put curtain drains on either side of the leach field draining to daylight here in WNY. Cost installed was $4000 but was bundled up into all the excevation work by my guy during the house build

8 lines 50 feet long for my system. I also had what they call the infiltrator system put in for leach lines. I'll put the link here.

This type of system snaps together and the ends have a cover which allows for the pipe from the d-box to fit into it.
