Started our basement for our new house last week and here are a few photos of the progress.

This is what started off the project. He dug it in about 3 hours and packed the dirt around the outside for the concrete trucks.

This is what happens when the concrete truck drives off of the pad the excavator made for him. He had 10 yards of concrete on board at this time.

Another pic of the truck. The driver said he thought he was going over when it started to sink...

THis is what showed up to pull him out. He pulled him forward first using a snatch block to a tree and then pulled him out sideways.

Free at last!!!

So now the cement truck is out and pulls out onto the driveway. So what does the big tow truck do?? Instead of pulling out to the driveway, he cuts across my front yard and you guessed it, it sinks up to the axles. They have the bright idea of using the concrete truck to pull it out and it to is stuck. So he had to winch himself back and this time he stayed on the hard ground and got out and pulled out the concrete truck again.

The bad thing was though that the concrete in the truck was starting to set up (calcium with hot water) and they had to dump all 10 yards on my driveway (gravel still). I was running against the clock having to spread it out with my Century 45 hp tractor before it set up.

Since the basement will be a viewout in the back, we are having to bring in a lot of dirt for fill for the front. Here is the wife getting some dirt to move up to the house. I had dug several large piles of dirt before we started digging to save on time moving it up by the house.
