I get a different value.
6.86 hrs per inch at 4 acres pumping at 264gpm.
27,154 gallons per inch acre x 4 acres = 108,616 gallons on 4 acres.
divided by 264gpm = 411 minutes divided by 60 minutes/hr = 6.86 hrs per inch.

But pump math is very sensitive the difference in elevation from input to output. This pump's specs claim "pump lifts to 91.9 feet - suction height 26.3 feet - pump delivery volume 264 g.p.m." I think the model here is:

Intake side, full rated volume at 0 net lift, declining to 0 volume at 26.3 ft suction lift from the creek to the pump inlet. Output side, full rated volume at 0 net lift, declining to 0 volume at 91.3 ft elevation above the pump.

Charting those ratios will give theoretical volume for a given setup. Then subtract something for friction loss, proportional to the length of the hoses.

Marimus examined the photo and said that output stream looks like 30 to maybe 60 gpm. I agree. Using CharlieTR's math that pump capacity means 1 to 2 days per final inch of fill. Using slowzuki's math gives 1 to 2 weeks.

I agree, it's ain't near the rated volume. If you dug a hole for the pump and had the inlet under the water level you might get the rated volume at the outlet port. Might. 30gpm looks about right.

If you want to look at it another way, at the rated volume of 265 gpm it would fill a 5 gal bucket in 1.1 seconds. At that rate, you would be hard pressed to even hold on to the bucket as it was filling. It looks like the type of stream that could fill a 5 gal bucket in 8-12 seconds.

Of course if Eddie has a 5 gal bucket and a watch we wouldn't have to guess, but what fun would that be?

I have plenty of five gallon buckets, but I'm gonna have to search to find a watch. hahahaha

When the next length of hose gets here, I'll try to time how long it takes to fill a five gallon bucket. Than hopefuly somebody can do the math and tell how much water I'm getting out of the pump.

Thanks,
Eddie

Google can make math and especially math with unit conversions easy.
4 acres times 4 feet in gallons

There are complete instructions and even some examples of what you can do.

Eddie
You can use this query to figure your pumps output. 5 gallons / 2 seconds in gallons / minute
Just change the 5 gallons to whatever size bucket you use, and the 2 seconds to whatever time it takes to fill.

Looks to me more like 60 gals/min. I bet it fill that 5 gallon bucket in about 5 or 6 seconds.

I vote for 63.5 gals/min.

Maybe we can have a contest, the person who gets the closest wins bragging rights for the day.

Eddie
Check with your local hydraulic hose shop mine has all types of hose.
Honey Dipper trucks around here have 3 and 4" hoses on them they might put you on to their source.

Eddie,
I haven't really paid attention to what type of hose your looking for, discharge or suction. But try this guy on eBay
