Hi Guys,

After years of planning to build a shed over numerous cups of tea it has finally entered construction phase. The workshop is going to be a complete steel structure sheeted with "kingspan" cladding. Kingspan is the main manufacturer of cladding here in Ireland. The size is 18ft by 21ft and will hopefully give myself and the brother room to build some of the projects we have in mind. Here is a picture of the site where the shed is going.

First six uprights were concreted in 2ft into the ground first. The uprights are 2"box and they will be 10ft above the floor level when the concrete is in. We welded loads of scrap to the bottom as well as a big lump of RSJ so that would give them more support in the concrete

once that was ready the concrete was ordered(5 metres). It was ordered for a wednesday morning at eight. The weather in ireland had been brilliant up to and including wednesday which meant that the garden was rock hard and a concrete lorry wouldnt do too much damage. Unfortunately the concrete company cancelled on the wednesday and the weather on thursday was good in the morning and then rain was forecast for 3-4 days. We decided to take a chance and go thursday morning . if it rained we would try cover the concrete. As soon as it was in the heavens opened. typical. The concrete did get slightly pot marked but it meant that the garden wasnt tracked. never again will i do concrete in the rain
