Had an aspen come down the other night and thought maybe I could (carefully) pull it with the tractor to the upper field. You know, save all that time limbing and cutting and cleaning up.

Well, I was pretty careful about it, 'cuz I've read plenty about people tipping tractors this way. Figured I'd try hoisting the butt end up on the carryall, and secure it with a chain (didn't want any cables snapping).

It worked pretty well. I almost got her stuck at the grassed ditch just below the field, but with a little back-and-forthing I got it going again and found the final resting spot. It wasn't quite where I wanted it, but I couldn't manouver as well as I'd hoped, and I think it will be fine where it is.

That's a good idea, practicing on bushes, before tackling the real thing. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
