Just for a fun posting,
Today I took my tractor (jd 4110) dug around the stump of a tree that had been dead 5 years but was like iron, I left it above ground about 4ft. It took a lot of pushing and digging. There was two trunks side by side once down I pushed them to my fire pit to dispose of later this fall for one heck of a campfire. Then the fun of smoothing out the site and making it nice so I can cut between the other tree and the river. Hope you enjoy the pictures and get out there and play.

Did that break off and leave most of the rootball in the ground?

It sure did, the tre had been dead many years and cut down about 5 years ago. The 1st trunk we had to use a 4 wheel drive pick up to yank on it and pushed witht he tractor (very carfully). The 2nd trunk snanp off with just the tractor. Both snapped below ground. The root ball was burried. In time I am sure the river will uncover it like it has with many trees snice I have been at the river camp.
