This weekend we or should I say she were spent "horse sitting" the neighbors animals as well as my wife’s horse whom is cared usually by the neighbors when we are not at our land. Horse person or Cowboy I am not. Wannabe woodsman, maybe.
I observed taking care of 6 horses requires 2 to 2-1/2 hours per day. I had not part of this. That is what my wife considers the minimum attention they get. That's 2-1/2 hours, 365 days a year. Heck, you would have to give up watching TV, tractoring, hunting, fishing, boats, motorcycles, even watching TV if that's your thing!
Even she remarked that that many animals is a lot of work. I figure one horse is more than enough. She is real happy to have a horse again.
Got to keep her happy if I am to be happy.
We probably spent the last night over in the camper, and worked on her garden before the rain and mud got too much. We did get that pile of loom in the photos spread.
Unless it dries out it will not be until next year we get the road in. Next year we want to get pond in, our own electric service, and 2 wells drilled. If we are lucky, the footing and septic system also. Time will tell.
Meanwhile I hope the neigbor finishes their barn/indoor rink so our barn does not have to be the "horse hotel" next winter. Our barn needs paint, some repair work and I will wire lights and power to the 2nd story loft.
