Heads up, Jim MacFadden's spring auction is just around the corner. I've attended quite a few of Jim's auctions, and think the ones at his site are the best. Just do me one favor - don't bid against me!

Jason...

Can I help "hold" all your money... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I don't know if I'll be at Mac Faddens or another... but I'll be at one of them...

On your wish list... buy the phd at this auction {Leinbach}, but no rotary cutters unless he puts in some Woods for about $600. {new Brushbull's}...

Maybe you'll see us there... /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

I said I need all those things, doubt I have enough for a cup of coffee /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. How d you guys know about these auctions, is there a site or paper that I can get, I really would like to attend these things even if I didn't have enough money. Maybe just put my hands in my pockets, look down at the ground, and kick the dirt like everyone else /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif !!!! Thanks for any info on this......

Prices? - just like any auction, you'll see some bargains and you'll see some folks pay more than they should. I watch the local papers, most advertise auctions on Thursday. I found this one in the Wantad Digest. Jim also has a web site - macfaddens.com.

Could not have said this any better myself. With the new house going up in a few weeks, all my tractor money is gone./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif But I do get a new house, so I can deal with it. Still like to look though./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

John:
Do you know of any other auction places that are any good, located between Saratoga and Utica. I would really like some place to go to this saturday night. I usually go to a place called Town and Country auction in Schuylerville but they usually have other peoples junk there. It is amazing what people will pay for stuff!

Yep!... I was there I think about 2 years ago... they had something like 200-300 "broken" lawn mowers... absolutely worthless... people were "bid fighting" over the junk... /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

I left after about 1 hour... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Mostly get on auction lists, get mailed upcoming auctions... then you can pick and choose... the farm auctions have really decreased the last few years...

Best bet is keep your eyes open for the newspapers and posted flyers... and alot of word-of-mouth...

Be prepared to travel loads of miles, lots of time on your hands and see worthless junk... /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Jason...

I forgot to mention... look at the top of your screen while in TBN and click on some advertisers... "Farm Auctions" and get on an "email list"....

The only problem is you''ll get stuff about auctions on the other side of the state... if you like driving 4-5 hrs. one-way to buy a "pig-in-a-poke"... /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Ain't it the truth! For a number of years, I was in charge of the police auto pound and we had an auction every Monday to dispose of unclaimed vehicles; mostly junk of course, being sold to salvage yards, but the auction was open to anyone and quite a number of individuals showed up every Monday. I was at that auction every Monday morning for about 3 years, and sold an average of 130 vehicles per week, and I can only recall three vehicles that I might have been willing to buy for more than the buyer paid. It was an amazing and interesting experience./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
