A check with Schwarzl.com says that the email address rodbrowneybv@comcast.net is not a valid address.

thanks.. i figured it was invalid, but worth a shot of looking into..

I am a little disappointed with DiscoverCard.. I originally called to dispute the charges and told them that I did not make authorize the charges no matter what creditreport.com says.. After getting the 'proof' from the company they closed the dispute and reversed the reversals.. later while looking at their website I saw they advertised "100% protections from fraud".. Well after a call to the fraud center they closed the account and are going to have an investigator look into the charges..

What I am disappointed in is the the dispute side of discover never mentioned the fraud investigation said, even after I told the I did not authorize the charges..

I also pulled my credit report from all three credit agencies and there was no suspicios activities.. I also put a 90 day fraud warning on my credit..

My letter telling creditreport.com to close my acct will be faxed tomorrow and a copy mailed on Wed..

thanks for all the advise..

Brian

I don't understand how an email from someone else opening an account in your name is proof of anything but fraud?

In your letter I would not indicate that it is YOUR account....only an account that was fraudulantly opened in your name and that you want it closed and funds refunded.

I think credit monitoring is a good thing. I subscribe to triplealert.com. They send me an email whenever there is a change to my credit report from any of the three credit reporting agencies. If someone trys to open an account in your name which results in a credit inquiry you will know right away..the same or next day. It runs me $4.95 x 2 as I do it for my wife too.
