Last week we bought a really nice '93 Chevy Suburban K1500 with the 5.7 (350). Beautiful truck. Only 64,000 original miles. Former emergency services truck. Always serviced, etc... Originally white with green stripe, now fire engine red. It has a 42 gallon gas tank. That was my first $100.00 fill up ever in my life, and that was only a little less than 30 gallons.:eek::eek:

Fortunately, I only drive it about 20 miles each Monday, and anytime my wife needs to take the car and I have to go somewhere. I will use it to tow my tractor and haul the extended family, if needed. Most of the time it will be a very nice driveway ornament. :) I'll take some pictures if the sun every comes out again.

Hi Moss,
That is a nice truck.
I had a 94' full size 4x4x Blazer with the same engine. Problem was it only got about 12mpg. Towing it got 8 or less.
But I sure liked the looks of it with the classic lines. They look like a real truck, tough but handsome.
Got any pictures of yours?

Just be glad it wasn't a diesel. I spent $72 just to top off the tank on my F-250 with the 6.0 and that was only for 17 gallons. I spent $75 to fill up my F-150 with 4.6 the day before. I wish I could use a small vehicle with good mileage but I can't justify the added cost for another vehicle and insurance just to improve my mileage the few times I am going somewhere without needing the bed of the truck.

But when the sun comes out please snap a few pics:D

My Ford Excursion holds 44 gallon of diesel. Yesterday was $160.00. Gone.

My Excursion has a V-10. It cost so much to fill I decided not to keep track
of the cost anymore!

I'm making my 15 year old daughter keep track of all the financial records regarding this truck. Purchased price, insurance, plates, sales tax, fuel, maint., etc.... That should be an eye opener if she thinks she can afford a car with a part time job next summer. ;)

I just bought a small pickup. I'm still in denial about the price of gas.

I would cry if I looked at our fuel bills for the month, so I just choose not too look :D

Think I am kidding.
