Has anyone installed a hydraulic kit for their pickup truck?

I'll have to ask the question - What do you mean by a hydraulic kit? There are two types that come to mind - a hydraulic kit that turns the bed into a dump truck or one of the kits that adds a belt driven hydraulic pump under the hood. If its the dump truck version - check out the thread on dump trailers that was running the last couple of weeks. If it the other, my brother-in-law has modified a power steering pump to provide pressure for a rear bale spear to haul hay.

I am interested in one to turn it into a dump truck. I'll search for the thread.

There is a company here that sells dump boxes that fit inside a pick-up box, c/w hydraulic system. I don't know who makes them but I'm sure you can find suppliers on the web. Try the website www.littletipster.com

Ok - do a search on Pierce Sales, they make one, I found about a half a dozen surfing the web. Also, Northern Tool carries the kit. If I recall, they weren't cheep, like around $900. If you have or intend installing a gooseneck hitch, they aren't compatible. I ended up with a EZ-Dumper insert for $535, that I insert into the bed, works great but is a pain when I want to tow the gooseneck.
