This is something that I have wondered about but have never ask the question. Until now. What is the difference in a Roller Pigeon and a Common Pigeon that is seen in every city? /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif They look the same to me.

I have a few Rollers and trying to learn more about them, thus my posting.

There are many different breeds of pigions, sort of like ducks or geese. The ones commonly seen in cities are referred to as ferral pigeons. These Rollers fly up and do sort of "back-flips". I think they are sometimes called Tumblers too. Kind of fun to watch.

I raised homing pigeons when I was a kid. Raced them too, Had a few tumblers also. It was great fun, then I discovered girls and I had no time for the pigeons. Older now and the pigeons are looking fun again.
