Here is one place I have used a lot:

FREE TARGETS from TARGETZ.com

There is a few others out there, just Google "free targets".

Has anyone actually had much luck with printing their own targets?

If I print them on ordinary paper, the bullets do not make nice clean holes like they do on regular store-bought targets.

Any ideas on better paper for targets?

That's a good question. I've never printed my own as I had a large stack of them (nowhere to be found now ) and would like to start again. I would think that by the time you buy suitable paper it may cost more than pre-printed ones. How about talking to the manager of the local office supply store and see if they have any reams or cases of heavier paper for scrap booking that are damaged or unsellable for some reason? Maybe look at a craft store for the same? Just a thought.
