I live in an area where we don't have any poisoness snakes to my knowledge anyway. This may sound like a dumb question, but do you let your kids play in the yard where poisoness snakes are a problem? My kids were always out in the yard when they were younger. If I lived where I had to carry a gun to protect myself from snakes I am not sure I would let my kids play there. As scared of the nonpoisoness snakes as I am I would hate to live where the poisoness ones do.

It's a part of the life one lives when he/she chooses this kind of area. Yes, you let your kids plays and usually don't worry about it. After all, you have hopefully done your parental job in educating the children about which snakes are friendly and which are poisonous. Very, very few people actually die from a snake bite, more die from a lightning hit.
