I was watching Pawn Stars and they mentioned someone was bring this 1955 Chevy pickup. But when they showed up I didn't see a 1955 model which I recall as have the open grill (like the '55 Chev Belaire car) and hooded headlights. The truck that showed up was what looks to me like 1954 and earlier. Were there two different body designs for 1955?

1955 split the year.

From Wikipedia:

1955 First Series - Identical to the 1954 model year, except redesigned hood-side emblems and modern open driveshaft in place of enclosed torque tube. Serial number codes unchanged from 1953 and 1954.

1955 Second Series - First year for new body style. New "wrap-around" windshield - a truck industry first - and optional wrap-around rear window on Deluxe cabs. Power steering and power brakes are now available for the first time on GM trucks. Electrical system has been upgraded to 12 volts. Only year for 7 foot bed length. Fenders have single headlights and one-piece emblem is mounted below horizontal line on fender.

That truck you are talking about was called "Early Edition" 1955 truck..... They used that to sell off the left over '54's

Saw this at a car show about 3 weeks ago, think it's a '57? Was hoping the picture I had was one of either of the '55 models....no such luck.

A friend has one of those just like that truck sitting out in our salvage storage yard. It's not all painted up. And is rusty. I would love to purchase it from him and restore it. It's supposed to run and have a rebuilt engine in it.

Wish my camera wasn't broke otherwise I would take a pic of it. I love old antique vehicles.

Me too. My father just sold his 1949+- KB5 International dump truck that he had for 50 years. It was rusty but still mechanically solid. I always wished I was in a position to have the rust taken care of for a B-day present or something.

I just snapped a couple pics of my friends 1955 1st series Chevy Truck. We just rebuilt the motor in it and took it for a ride. He's owned it for over 30 years.
