tglass,
Sounds like something I need to have checked out by an ear, nose and throat specialist. Thanks..
I had that for almost a year progressively worsened, Glomus Tympanicum vs Glomus Jugulare. My PCP looked in the ear saw a reddening. Went to ENT, saw the same, had a CT and sure enough Glomus Tympanicum with a start of Glomus Jugulare (nasty one). Had surgery mine was supposed to have been 2 hrs but it lasted 4 hrs and 400 cc's of blood loss later out of surgery. Informed me that it had buried itself in bone and he had to dig around to get it all. Also said that these types of tumors are notoriously vascular - lots of blood during surgery. Had CT 6 mos later no sign of tumor and after surgery no heart beat hearing. I now have tininitus but I use back ground noise to reduce that. Surprisingly my ENT informed my wife & I that women are 4x more candidates for what I had and most often nothing can be found. I was a rarity as male to have this tumor. If you want you can PM me. Above all see an ENT doc - soon. The Glomus Jugulare is not nice.
