I am surprised to not see many comments on this. I am a big baseball fan, saddened greatly by the turn the game has taken with steroids and grotesque salaries. We are rapidly losing the great ones, and we have lost perhaps the greatest now. Not as a ballplayer, as there were many more accomplished. As a man. May we all strive to be as humble and sincere as Stan Musial.

I heard the comments replayed on KMOX Sunday morning. You are correct --- it was fantastic. I especially liked the comments he made when Mickey Mantle was at his house and they invited Stan Musial over for dinner. Wow.

There will never be another Stan the Man! Albert had a chance to be close but chased after the money.

Shook Stan's hand when I was about 7, not sure how long I made it,but went a few days before I finally washed my hand. He was at the end of his career at the time.
