Turkey Vulture Pictures

About 30% of the vultures in our area are black vultures. The rest are turkey vultures. The farmers around here don't like the black vultures. They are known to kill newborn lambs and calves.

The black vultures are the most common in this area. They love the power poles that cross my property.

Yep, we are not allowed to "see" a turkey vulture (buzzard) until March 15 - Hinckley Buzzard Day. Avoid driving through Hinckley on that Sunday - March 17 this year.

And that St. Pats Day too.
