I need to find 2 light duty gas springs that operate the top to the tool box. The spring should travel about 6" and lift about one pound. These will replace the the two that are bad. Thanks for your help.

I used McMaster Carr to replace the gas springs on my Land Cruiser. They have a bunch of different models.

Auto parts stores in my area have them. Napa (here) carries a good selection

Want the best, look a Gobi's, but they aren't cheap. I bought a set for the rear door of my H2 and it only took one to hold up the heavy door, 2 push it up. They are much better than OEM as they advertise.

Like any type of spring, there are a million different configurations. Different lift weights, lengths and travel distances, as well as connection types.

Thanks to all for your help...I'll keep looking.

There should be a number on your old ones... unless this is a new application?

heres a sizing chart.. AVM Industries Gas Springs and Lift Supports Provider
The spring has the toolbox manufacturers name on it and this number 07DA. I believe it is the box manufacturers part number, as far as I can tell they are not interested in selling parts. I think they probably purchased the springs and did not manufacture them. The part number doesn't seem to mean anything.
It also has this spec. F1:5+_0.5kgf. Which is equal to 1.102 Pound force.

The spring is 6.0" retracted, 10.38" extended, so the travel is about 4.38"

5kgf is about 10-11lbs

4.38" is 110-120mm stroke
