My wife's elder brother...a Vietnam War veteran, turns 65 this weekend and we are getting together for a cookout dinner. But we are darned as to what to get him as a gift...he lives in a tiny apartment and is unable to drive and has little interest in anything outside of his home. Would anyone have an idea of what we might be able to get for him? Thanks for any input.

Does he shop online? If so, a gift card from Amazon or wherever he shops. He can use it for something of HIS choice.

Harry & David have some pretty tasty treat and fruit packages. Not cheap, but really good. I can't imagine anyone not liking one.

Going with your description of his lifestyle I'd recommend memories... the cookout gathering will be one of them, but if you can get him out to a concert or an event that he'd enjoy with you it'll mean a lot more to him.

I had my 79th earlier in the 3rd of this month and I got a Kia Sportage. (had to buy it myself) I thought I was worth it.:D
