Was wondering if I could solicit some help on deciding if the price of a new / slighty used truck is a good deal ?
I have checked a few web sites, but would appreciate some personal opinions. Anywho - some details -
2001 GMC 2500HD crew cab, 6.5' bed, 4x4 v-8 6.0 slt package, bed has sprayed-in liner, it has 8k miles, supposedly the guy changed his mind and traded this one for the Duramax diesel. It has most bells and whistles on it - leather, no carpet- rubber floor !!!, dealer is was at 34000, then at 31900, and sez that he wil take $29k for it.
Lot of mola for a vehicle so would love some input.

That seems pretty high to me. I paid less than that for my 2001 Chevy K3500 Crew Cab (long bed) brand new!

I wouldn't pay more than $23,000 for the truck if I were you.

Just my 2 cents!

I'm with Gatorboy,
For that price you can buy a brand new Ford diesel just like that with 0% financing and the diesel is almost a 5k option. No way that's much too high.

I just looked it up and you are paying full dealer retail for that truck. Trade-in is down around $22,000. You can just about get a brand new 2002 for that price.

I've got the NADA book. You really can't go by the websites or even NADA's sight. This book has what the real values are. The others are close but if you really want to know what the dealer is going to do you need the book. It's updated all the time.

To get a good "rough" idea, go to the Kelly Blue Book website.

Good Luck.

P.S. The two things I hate the most -- The dentist, and car dealers.
