Tractor chat seems pretty innoscent after watching Dateline NBC the other night ! It amazes me that these guys are dumb enough to go out on a limb and get stung one after another They obviously dont own TV sets

It was a sting operation about these guys tryin to pick up children off the internet Maybe TBN isnt the place to discuss it, I was just so amazed at the whole thing that I was thinkin out loud on this post. Hopefully I havent offended anyone, I just cant believe this thing goes on to this extent !!!

I watched that also. I think the only person you would offend would be the people that they caught and in that case who cares if they are offended. That should be the least of their worries.
This is a subject they really worries me. I have 3 and 4 year old daughters and this problem seems to be growing rapidly.

I think this has always been a problem its just that the Internet opens up more opportunities for the predators. I remember in elementry school being shown very graphic "stranger danger" movings. Course it was not called "stranger danger" back then. The Internet makes things easier as well as anonymity. 24 Hours news allows you to hear what is going on outside of your area. When you had one local paper published once a week the chance of hearing a story from out of state would be very remote.

What is sad is that I won't let my kids do what I did as a child. Back in the day Ignorance was bliss. I would ride off by myself and spend hours at a local school in the summer playing. Or I would go into the woods all day by myself or maybe with a dog. When my kids are older if they want to go off in our woods I think we will let them as along as they have a dog or two and maybe one of those GPS walkie talkies.... Sad.

What people have to understand about child predators is their true nature. People get homosexuality mixed up in this and that is not the case. Its more complicated and very hideous. Some men prefer blondes women. Some prefer redheds. Pedaphiles prefer a specific gender and age as well as a look. They might like a 12 year old girl with black hair. Now the girl does not have to be 12 but if she looks 12 that is good enough. Think about what I said. There is a look and gender they like. Their drive is just as strong as a man who prefers women with red hair. You could throw a man into prison for 10 years for liking women with red hair and when he gets out he is still going to like redheads. Prison is NOT going to change him.

These people LIKE children. They are NOT going to change.

Often the predator prays on children who are from families under stress. Single parent families. Families with drug issues, etc. The kids are vulnerable and often neglected. The predator, is a predator, and sees this vulnerability in the family to get close to the children. Often the predator will marry a mother with children, or get involved in activities that allow them to get near kids.

You just have to watch your kids and watch who is around them. I check the predator web pages a couple of times a year to see which offenders are living near me. You should check your local page. You are likely to be shocked at who is living down the street.

I actually work at a Federal Penitentiary and i agree that prison will not change them. BUT, they are gonna wish they never came here because even convicts have some moral values. They are usually held in protective custody in the Special Housing Unit ( i.e. "the Hole") for most of their sentence. If the general population finds out what these losers did to get to prison before they check their self into protective custody.... well, that is one predator off the streets for good.

Whats even stranger, is a person that I knew though the fire department softball league, considerably younger than me, I believe he is in his late 30"s. He was married to a beautiful wife, and had two great young kids, was caught with a 14 year old girl he met online She was using the high school computer, and I think thats how the whole thing was exposed
