Be careful. I got OpenOffice from that outfit and they tried to sucker me into a negative option software subscription deal. You can get two titles free but you must follow the instructions exactly.

I got Open Office to see if it would convert MS Word file correctly or at least better than WordPerfect. I refuse to use any MS products other than Windows itself. I would still be using OS2 were it practical.

OpenOffice is great but as gotrocks said, find a better source. Google should take you to the primary source.

I've found that the OpenOffice equivalents for Word and Excel are compatible, and excellent.
