Went to an auction and this followed me home. Brillion 14 ft cultimulcher. Kind of crappy now but I'll clean up, cut off the sloppy welds and paint in the spring.
Checks photos of messy "hitch" welded on the back plus some spots where I already hacked or ground off some really bad welds.
Hydraulic cylinder is the greasiest I have ever seen.

I agree on the cylinder, greasiest I have seen too. That is a very nice piece of equipment overall though; hope it serves you well.

Torched off the poorly welded add-ons shown in the photo a couple posts earlier. Really thick metal but came out OK.
Tomorrow will clean off the weld slag and see what happens. Paint in the spring.

In the above posts I learned I needed to straighten the 1/2" plate on the cultimulcher to put things back to the way they were. Photos show the piece not fitting right with a before and after. The prior owner must have bent it up to weld that mass of metal on. After researching, the right way was to bend that plate back so I torched the bolts off, removed it and heated and hammered the thing flat on an anvil and put it back together. Also added a different hydraulic cylinder and called it good. I'll come back to things in the spring and repaint plus change the tires for something more dependable.

Before, ill fitting...

Done and back to the way we were...new bolts and all.

Nothing beats rebuilding old equipment...try it.

Welded up the shifter on the little tractor so now I can get all five and reverse.

Welded the cracks in the steering wheel and painted it. Now it dont flex when you turn it.

Next is to paint the hood and fit a verticle exhaust oh and fit some brakes lol

Yesterday I worked almost all day on landlord duties. My big house in town one set of Tenants was moving out after 15.5 months, and a new set was moving in for at least a 2 year lease. All were very nice people. I needed to repair a locking door knob on the garage, replace the red flag on the mail box, and the springs on one garage door are stretched so I need to replace those soon. Mostly I spent time showing the new guy where everything was and how to change HVAC filters, etc.

Today I am officially starting on taxes by trying to wrap up all my accounting stuff and get everything entered and reconciled on my computer.

Be well all & Happy 2013!

Happy New Years guys!

Yesterday I worked in the coldest house I have ever been. Owner went on vacation to Scotland and a friend was supposed to check in on things. She didn't because the furnace went out and by the time I got there pipes were froze. I worked in the home for just 2 hours but it seemed like eternity. I guess as we get older the cold affects us differently because years ago it wouldn't have been a problem at all.

Then at midnight I crept out in the back yard with the 37mm launcher and made a commotion. :)

I had a good few days. My wife and I went to the casino for 2 nights and today returned home with a few extra dollars. Of course had to fork it over to the bride but only after giving our kids a little. Well back to work on Saturday after 2great weeks off.
