TB serial numbers

i have 4 troybilt tillers, in various states of disrepair: one i have borrowed, an its the only one that works: i just bought a new motor for one that the briggs motor threw a rod: so i bought the rest of the tiller, last year: am trying to figure out, about what year they are: heres the list, with what i think is the newest first:
Model 12087: sn 120870101600 this is the one i have the new motor for:
sn 643647 this has an electric start kohler: won't start
sn 512119 this one is borrowed: it has a pull start kohler, an works pretty well:
sn T306297 this one does not have a motor, an has the bearings out in the tine area:
does anyone have a list of sn's an year of manufacture?

I tried those numbers at the MTD online manual site and came up with manuals only, no years.

If you have an original Briggs & Stratton engine check the code number, the first two numbers are the year, the second two numbers are the month the engine was made. My new to me Pony has a code of 9702.... so I know the engine was made in feb of 97, so I assume my Pony is a 97

Somewhere I saw a site that you can find a year by using the model and serial numbers. I will look and let you know if I find it.

OK heehaw, I found the year of 2 of your tillers.

SN 643647.....1982
SN 512119.....1980
SN T306297... I don't know what the T means but if this is a horse that number is from 1978. Not at all sure about this until I find out what that "T" means.

My list only goes up to 1992

they are all the horse model: but the 643647 and the 0101600 both have the lever on the side that will disengage the tines: i am pretty sure only one has the original engine: an that the one with the T in front...the 0101600 was bought by a friend about 1999 or so?? it threw a rod in the BS motor, probably ran it with out oil, but it has had very little use...so i am going to stick the new HF motor on it..thanks for the info..
