Troy Bilt Horse 4 forward 2 reverse. I removed 7hp Briggs and installed 212cc
Predator, the $99 Harbor Freight special that starts right up. The Briggs had
3/8 X 1 1/2 hex bolt in end of shaft holding reverse on with only a lock washer,
no spacers. I used 5/6 X 1 1/2 in the Predator. When I tightened the bolt the
pulleys slid about 3/8" or 1/2" in front of lining up with bottom pulleys.
Where should I put a spacer and what kind of spacer should it be?
Thank You

Actually I posted the question there first but yours is the only answer that I have received so far. I have everything on the tiller ready to go except for this. I guess I can put some washers between the reverse and the pulleys but that would not keep the pulleys from being able to move forward. Maybe they would stay back against the reverse anyway?

I installed the same engine last year, it has done great. I installed the spacer in between engine and the pulley. I used large washers and used a dremel tool to open them up enough to slide over the shaft. I can't remember the thickness but can get it to you later if needed.
