Reminds me of the story in the paper recently when they had the flooding around Lake Texoma. Some guy with a manufactured home bought a couple thousand dollars of styrofoam and put under his house. When the lake rose above flood stage, his house floated up while his neighbors flooded. Pretty smart.Bird said:I think the floating pier is a good idea, although I'd check into the big blocks of styrofoam instead of barrels that will rust out in time.
The obvious advantage of the floating pier is that it is always the same height above the water no matter what the water level may be.
