There was a bad storm, either tornado, funnel or windshear,National Weather Service will decide tomorrow. A woman died from house collapse,it happened 15 miles West from me. I know there are a few others in NH that were near storm ,hope everyone is ok. I was just in Epsom/ Deerfield area yesterday working on house near the damage. Insurance companies may or may not pay for tree removal, depends on the insurance policy. plowking

We had that storm come through last night. It's not windshear. That's a term for winds changing direction aloft, not on the ground.
It most likely was a microburst. Picture a bucket of water dumped on the ground and then substitute air for the water. Winds on the ground are very localized and clock 90 to 150 mph.
I had one of those hit me two decembers ago. It took down about seventy full oak trees and damaged my garage to the tune of $15K. The insurance payed for garage and vehicle damage but not fallen tree cleanup.
I spread the word - free firewood, cut and haul your own and that helped.
