Water will freeze in the pump otherwise and ruin it. It's a very expensive repair.
1. Disconnect and empty the water from the hoses.
2. With the engine off, pull the starter five or six times
3. Screw in a can of pump protector (found at HD and Lowes) and squirt till the bubbly comes out

You might also consider your other water pumps such as foliage and insect sprayers.

That thought occured to me when my dad brough his broken pressure washer over for me to repair. There is a great (cheap) parts source on the web.

Great idea! I've always brought mine into the basement every winter. Now I can leave it in the shed. Thanks. My wife thanks you too;).

Did mine 1 week ago. Nights are getting near freezing. Also check those pto sprayer pumps if you have one. Good time to check antifreeze in radiators too.

I keep mine in my basement. Thanks for reminding me. I am going to move it right now.

Good Evenin Steve,
Its easy enough to bring in my little 1750 psi electric into the basement ! Less work all the way around ! ;):)

BTW great pics of the Corvette and bikes !
Did I ever tell you about my Kawasaki H2-750, ohh that was fast in its day, geared and expansion chambers, what a little rocket ship ! :)

Can I use RV antifreeze?
Bob

That's what I've always used. A guy at work is a water-maker specialist and they use the same CAT pumps as the pressure washer and that's what he recommends. I've used RV antifreeze to winterize my CAT pump for the last six years. The manual for my pressure washer says to use EXA80 to winterize the pump or if that's not available to use RV antifreeze or they say you can even use windshield washer fluid.
