Before the days of Interstate Highways, I always enjoyed seeing the Burma Shave signs. One of my favorites was "Around the curve lickety-split, beautiful car wasn't it. There were a lot of Burma Shave signs on U.S.77 from Dallas to Oklahoma City.

We all read them and seemed like there were no two the same. When I saw the first one always looked for the rest of the jingle.

There's a property around here where the owner put up signs along side the road that read:
If you dislike
big traffic fines
slow down til you
can read these signs

Yep, I remember those.

Yep, they were neat. I have been going to make some up and put along the road by my place. There is a sharp corner and many younger kids go way to fast and slide around it. One of them went into a big maple tree.
I will try to do this. A set on each side of the road. Good idea.
